I bought my wife a second shuffle after the first one failed at around a year. They were so cheap I just got another. The second lasted about ten months. Apple claims a one year warranty. This means they will send you a refurbished replacement. I have just sent the third replacement back as they have all failed. I do not believe there are humans that are concerned about my problem at Apple. Spend a few more dollars and get something that will work.

I have 5 shuffles and am buying my sixth. I just load my cds on to my computer and then download onto the ipod. I am over 55 and don't want any hassle, this is w=easy for an inexperienced electronics user. I only put music on that I love, that's a lot, and I don't care if i can't access a certain song, although I have one through the song list till I found a song. Its easy to wear, I can change it without looking, andd the quality is great. I did buy different ear buds, the ones that came with the shuffle were too large and hurt my ears.

Very small, so it is easy to loose but good for the $$, bought as a gift for a runner/biker and seems to like it a lot. Very light and easy to transport, just a little small for a guy to use.

This is a great little device. Unlike the other types of ipods, it clips directly to clothes so your hands are free. It only plays songs at random, so you cannot select specific songs. However, this is perfect for a younger child or during exercise. It's also not so expensive, so you don't feel like you have to protect it as much.

Like a brooch of another century, my Apple shuffles decorate my lapels, collars, and necks of tees most everywhere I go. The jewel colors of the newer ones are attractive and cheerful on any outfit. With the sturdy clip feature, the Apple shuffle can even hide beneath my clothing when wearing it on the outside is inappropriate. I like Apple shuffles because they hold just the right amount for a long walk, interminable times in a waiting room or a quick research visit to the library. Whenever I get a song stuck in my head, the Apple shuffle loads it easily and plays it in my ears until I have become satiated with the annoyance and it disappears. I love this little iPod. It's so small I can put it anywhere. I do have a problem getting any headphones to stay connected to it though. I have to hold them in or I keep getting interrupted music. I thought it was only the original ones that came with it but the second pair I bought are doing the same thing.

For the price I paid, I could have gotton one at Walmart for $10 more, brand new. The one from Amazon (O$CAR) did not come with headphones or a docking station, and was dented in. The Ipod came in the mail by its shipping date. I had to go to the store to purchase headphones and a docking station separately for another $28. I couldn't get the Ipod to upload music from my computer. I became frustrated, wrote an irate email to the seller, and found a similar item on Craigslist for $35, with headphones and docking station, which has performed perfrectly. I returned the items I purchased that did not come with the Ipod I bought from Amazon to offset the cost of the device, I have been reluctant to make any further purchases from Amazon.

I bought this specifically for the gym, using either a treadmill or elliptical. I don't wear an Ipod weight training. The size is excellnt, so small you don't even know your wearing it, I just clip in on my shorts pocket.

I didn't buy the 3rd generation because of the poor reviews involving headphone/earplug control failure due to moisture from sweat. Also the fact you can't use a different pair of earplugs which I do becasue I like mine better.

It does just what I wanted it to do, I can load up a bunch of songs & changing songs and volume is simple even while running. I also don't see why some people have a problem with the small dockinig station to recharge it. It just becomes part of my routine, come home from the gym, take it out of my gymbag with other stuff, plug it into the docking station attached to the USB on the computer, and it's gets recharged eventually before the next day. I'm always online in the evening, so it's never a problem, besides there are other charging options available if you wanted them.

I think this is an excellent product for what it is.... Not a lot of bells & whistles..... Just a small simple Ipod for active people.
