this is by far the best headset for those runners that like to listen to music. I always had issues with ear buds (even the expensive ones) never staying in or getting tangled, but this set is lightweight, stays on your head and you don't even notice they are there

I run about 30 miles/week and love the fit of these headphones. Other headphones would fall out of my ears and it's so annoying to fiddle with placing them back in place, take's away my concentration of the activity. Sennheiser has created a product that simply works, they are very light, and powerful. I use these with a ipod nano and can make small volume adjustments to block out traffic noises or it's nice to be able to hear my surroundings when running on sidewalks along busy roads with great quality sound. I bought these initially for my wife, she has a smaller head and these seem a little big on her but she love's them too, she did complain about her long hair/ponytail causing them to bounce a little but she put's her hair up a little higher out of the way and has no complaints. I had to get my own after trying her's. Highly recommend these headphones.

I recently purchased these headphones because I wanted something that:
1. Has good sound quality
2. Can handle lots of vigorous workouts with sweat!
3. Was not outrageously expensive.
4. Had a set-up so that cords and earplugs were not in the way.
I must confess to two things here. One, I am not a sound maniac, and two, I believe that the headphones supplied with the Apple Ipods are pretty good in sound quality.
Now, as to these headphones I am VERY happy.
Pros:
1. Appearance: Overall, this item is very cool looking. Orange is the dominant color. The headband is gray, with a reflective strip in the back. This is a thoughtful quality for those of us that workout at night - it might just save your life.
2. Sound quality: This, of course, is quite subjective, but if you read my qualifier above, then from that perspective, I think a buyer would be quite happy with this item. Sound is not incredible - and this should not be expected in this model. However, I have listened to these headphones just as a regular user (not outside or in a workout) and I think they are quite good. Sound exclusion (i.e. isolation of external white noise from outside) is pretty good overall as well even though these are not noise reduction headphones.
Overall quality in terms of different music is very good. I have listened to everything from opera, metal, rap, and classical music (Beethoven's 5th Symphony) and been quite impressed overall.
3. The headband is very light and barely noticeable at all. After some hours of use, I can barely notice it is wrapped behind my head. Of course, there is a slight pull from the headband, but this is not intolerable at all.
Neutral
1. Price: this was a decision I wrestled with for a while. The price is certainly significant considering you can get a decent pair of headphones for probably 1/4 of the price of this item. But after some weeks of hedging my decision, I am happy with the choice of these headphones.
Cons:
1. Truly, I have not found anything making me unhappy with this item. Hopefully, in the long term these will hold up and be able to withstand my special brand of man water (aka perspiration). But so far, so good.
I have not tried the dunking and rinsing that these can tolerate, but they have survived a workout or two without a problem.
Overall, I am very happy with this purchase and I find this item well worth the price you will pay for the item. I guess the adage you get what you pay for is true because here the quality is very good.
A good item for the musical athlete!

No, these are not the CX300's nor do they sound quite as nice. That's not what you're paying for here. These headphones are sweat and moisture proof and can and, to avoid buildup of dried sweat residue, should be rinsed after a sweaty workout. The speakers sit in a good position in the ear canal, directing sound optimally. The cord and fittings are quite robust. They are sturdy and well engineered and wouldn't come off your head even after the loud music you're running to had distracted you to the point of not seeing that car coming and "SPLAT!"
Seriously, though, folks, be careful out there.
What you're getting with these guys is a pair of headphones that sounds far better than any others that even approach their sturdiness. They are not top-of-the-line reference-quality earbuds. After all, you're not in an optimum listening environment while running or working out anyway, right? These are as good as you need. The more audiophilic among you will probably want to tweek whatever EQ settings you have on your ipod or other audio device to really optimize the sound.
Another reviewer complained of how the behind-the-head band is interfered with while lying on or against a workout bench: I haven't tried these at the gym yet, only running which they're great for. But I can totally see how that might be an issue. Lying against the back of the sofa at home it was a problem. I was able to easily resolve this by tilting my head back slightly. If a slight tilt of the head throws off an exercise you're doing, you may want to examine your technique. If the headband remains a huge concern, there are the Sennheiser CX380 Sport Series II Noise Isolating Earphones. They were my second choice, but I wanted to avoid the increased tendency to tangle inherent in separate earbuds. Also, I can't vouch for how they sit in the ear.

Sounds great. works perfectly for running. I've had no major issues in gym either. it's nice to have clip and only one cord.
