It's a pretty good product minimal static when the Ipod is playing. The only thing I disliked about it is that it doesn't charge my Ipod.

I purchased this one as a gift after having the product myself for a year. Tried several other brands and styles, and find this one the best.

I used it only for 2hours or so while driving and after a while, the green light was gone. No matter what I did, the power indicater was not turned on. I am not sure if it was broken while driving and it was too late to returned this product. Sorry it is only one star. If it was working fine, I would have given 4 stars.

"Works Well... For Ten Bucks" 2009-08-22

Praise:

1) It's cheap. My last transmitter was over $50, and broke within 6 months.

2) It's small, convenient and doesn't need your car's cigarette lighter. It's wireless! This also means you can use it with non-car-related stereos. Neat.

3) Works well enough given the above points. See Gripes.

Meh:

1) Drains iPod battery fairly quickly. Starting with a fully charged iPod, after a 2 hour drive it was at half power. This is balanced out by the Micro USB socket that lets me use my old cell phone charger with it.

Gripes:

1) Signal is WEAK. Granted, this may have something to do with my car radio's ability to pick up the signal (I know it doesn't work well), but I literally have to set my iPod in my center console, right in front of my speedometer, which is less than an inch away from my radio in order to get a clear signal. Also, as soon as I pick it up to look for a different song, the signal cuts out, and is replaced with 88.1's constant white noise. And combined with the fact that you naturally need to turn the stereo volume up higher than normal, it makes navigating your iPod while driving incredibly distracting. Of course, that isn't something you should be doing anyway, but I remember it used to be a lot easier.

Bottom Line:

Approach with caution. If you know your car's radio is bad at picking up FM stations, you'll probably have a bad time trying to make this work. However, for people that want to avoid having to plug their transmitters into their cigarette lighter, this is a good way to go. Besides, for less than $20, how could you go wrong?

"Beats listening to the radio!" 2009-08-21

The iTrip was just what I needed to get me through a 3-hour drive to the beach. Now that I'm back from vacation, I use it all the time--even on my 10-minute commute to work! I can't stand listening to the radio and fumbling through CDs is too much work. The iTrip was perfect for me!

 "Works Great!" 2009-08-20
By Mr.M (California)
I paid 3.99 for this itrip, and honestly it worked GREAT! I love it. Easy to use, and the signal seems to be stronger when i plug a charger into it. I have no clue why, but it's much more clear that way. Love it!

"ALL good things come in small packages :-)" 2009-08-05
By MC (Newark, DE, USA)
I just received this transmitter and was delighted to find it set to default 87.9 FM which is a clear, empty station ( at least in my area) ...it was already in DX mode and instantaneously started playing good, clean music as soon as I connected it to my ipod 4G...I am very happy with this little purchase as of now and the price was awesome too..

The mini-USB-port is a great idea too which will enable any standard GPS/car charger to plug in...

Thank you, Griffin!:-)

 "Very Good Transmitter" 2009-08-20
By J. Burnett (Huntsville, AL)
Overall, this is the best FM radio iPod transmitter I have ever used. It has its pros and cons, which I'm about to list, but for those who don't want to read it, my suggestion is to get this product.

Pros:

This transmitter is the best i've ever used. i've been using it for about a month now and haven't had any static! also, the design is great. the cigarette lighter in my car is located in the perfect position for this device, and it's great to finally have an iPod holder that will also charge my iPod while i'm driving. also, (with a simple modification listed below) the side pads hold my ipod very well.

Cons:

This device might be loose in your cigarette lighter, causing it to squeak, wobble, or flip over since it's top heavy. this happened to me, but adding a little padding in the cigarette lighter solved my problem. also, the led display on my transmitter quit working the first day i got it. i've heard that heat will do it, and i do live in alabama, so maybe that's why. i still thought that was pretty bad though. the pads on the sides don't function as well as they should either, and my iPod classic fell out a few times while i was driving. This is because they just push on the ipod from the sides, and don't fully cover it and hold it in. However, this wasn't too big of a deal to fix. I just took a knife and carefully cut out part of the inside padding. this way, the side holders now overlap and go on top of my iPod and hold it in nicely. And last, this transmitter feels a bit cheap, but for the price it's a steal.

I know I've listed a lot more bad things than good, but to me the audio quality i get from this transmitter outweighs the cons. After fixing the side pads to hold my ipod better, i haven't had a single problem with this device, and i don't have to worry anymore about static and changing my radio stations when i drive. (i drove all the way across north alabama and never had to change my station. the reception is great!)

 "Lasted Two Whole Weeks!" 2009-08-06
By S. J. Travis (Denver, CO)
This unit worked great...for two weeks. Also, it could only be used off of the hard wired Aux outlet. Would not work in the ignition Aux outlet. The electrical contact button on the bottom is either too sensitive or the side contacts don't project enough, because the unit continually needed pushed back in the outlet due to popping out. In the end, the display went out and it would not change channels. I just found out that Apple makes a cradle and will try it next.

 "Not what I expected" 2009-06-30
By L. Baker (Columbia, MO)
I ordered this as an additional Father's Day gift for my daughter's daddy and I was extremely disappointed. Not only was the signal lost every time we hit a bump, but the package it came in says "7 in 1 Car Kit for IPod-iPhoe." No...not an iPhone...an iPhoe. Beyond that, the sticker on the front says "6 in 1". Which is it? 6,7, or 8 in 1? There are several spelling errors on the packaging so it seems really unprofessional. A waste of money as far as I can tell.
